Welcome to the recap blog, where we’ll take a look at the results from our previous weeks bets, as well as keep a running season total of our win loss record. Week to week results aren’t important, but I always liked the idea of tracking our bets to see how the season is going as well as providing full transparency to our readers.
A common recommendation on first and thirty is to bet games as early as possible. We typically run the model the Tuesday night when once we have all the data from the pervious week. Since a lot of time has passed since then, I thought it would be interesting to see where the lines have shifted (naturally while sipping a mimosa.. because I'm classy).
Week 8 was kind to us as we took down both of our bets. The model called on us to take the Dolphins and Redskins, and both of those sad excuses for a football team covered.
We're bookending week 8 by taking the Thursday Night game and the Monday Night game. The model is back on the Dolphins with the points. Let's get at it.
The model wants the massive underdogs this week, and we start things off with the Redskins +16 over the Vikings on Thursday night. Please keep your Kirk Cousins revenge game narratives at home.
Our week 8 is in the books. As always, we take a look back to see how we did. Click the title for more.
Oh yes, we're teasing wongs today, baby. We got a combination of Carolina + 8 and Pittsburgh -2. Click the title for more.
That's right, we're going right back to Miami. Does it matter that we lost decisively with Miami last week? Not one damn bit. Click the title for more.
A lot of what I do is simply monitoring injuries. It's very depressing. Anyway, here is what is going on with each team. Keep in mind I'm only tracking players that I think are impactful. Click the title for more
